A Sunday in Irpinia: The Mastroberardino Italian Wine Experience in Sydney (16 November Recap)

Last Sunday, 16 November, our SDM Community gathered in Sydney for a rare and emotional journey into the heart of Southern Italy.
The Mastroberardino Wine Experience was more than a tasting — it became a true Italian immersion: wine, culture, storytelling, and the feeling of being transported to Campania for an afternoon.

This event brought together people dreaming of traveling to Italy, passionate about Italian culture, and lovers of Italian food & wine events in Sydney.
What unfolded was a warm, sincere, and unforgettable experience.

The Wines That Guided Our Journey to Italy

Our guests explored a curated list of Mastroberardino’s most iconic bottles — each one a window into the vineyards, traditions, and volcanic landscapes of Campania.

  • Falanghina del Sannio DOC – fresh, vibrant, perfect for those dreaming of the Amalfi Coast

  • Fiano di Avellino DOCG – elegant, aromatic, a white that captures Irpinia’s altitude and finesse

  • Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Bianco DOC – born from the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, historical and unique

  • Greco di Tufo DOCG – a noble, structured white with mineral tension

  • Campania Bianco & Rosso IGT – authentic everyday expressions of Campania

  • Radici Fiano di Avellino DOCG – a deeper, more intense interpretation

  • Radici Taurasi DOCG & Riserva – the great reds of the South, powerful and timeless

For anyone planning a trip to Italy, these wines become a roadmap: each region, grape, and story offering insight into the places you will one day visit.

Many guests commented:

“It feels like being in Italy, even though we’re in Sydney.”

And that’s exactly the magic you create every time.
